“Successful Business Transformation – What’s your Role?”

Business Transformation has emerged as a key focus for executive management to better align people, process and technology initiatives with business strategy and vision.  Leaders who have managed successful transformations have taken billions of dollars of waste, cost and complexity out of the end to end business and are now in a position to follow growth and innovation strategies. The reach of such transformations must transcend the various silos in an organization and thus all departmental leaders play an integral role in success.

This Keynote Panel draws on the perspectives from a diverse group of senior executives at leading organizations to talk about best practice, learning’s, pitfalls and enablers in their journey to business and supply chain transformation. Key topics that will be discussed are relevant to all continuous improvement and transformation projects and leaders. The content will be valuable to bigger global companies as well as smaller local manufacturers and retailers from across the different verticals and markets; from retailer to consumer-driven and industrial build to order manufacturers.

Best practice topics that will be discussed and debated are;

  • Improving demand forecast accuracy through joint value creation initiatives with customers.
  • Achieving reliable operations excellence in the extended product supply network.
  • Making balanced and balanced trade offs across the business using information, governance, and processes such as S & OP and network optimization.
  • Operationalizing demand and innovation across the extended value network.
  • Managing risk and complexity.
  • Change and performance management and organization design to achieve organization effectiveness.
  • Designing, structuring, and developing talent in the global organization.

“Strategic Supply Chain Initiatives at SMSC”

SMSC recognized their business systems were in need of renovation.  In order to justify the investment, several initiatives to develop a quantitative business case to support the renovation were explored.  The core teams led by the CIO selected SAP’s value engineering process and created business cases for each major initiative.  Board approval was granted based on the merits of their business case.  SMSC embarked on a number of initiatives including Supplier Collaboration, Supply chain management, Channel Management, to cite a few.  In order to enable the transformation of these business initiatives in a very cost effective manner, SMSC upgraded their IT infrastructure to serve as the foundation to support their initiatives.

“How to create a comprehensive data governance strategy on a global scale"

Gain an understanding of how to optimally manage the on-going creation, collection, and maintenance of supply chain data for your integrated SAP ERP solutions. Learn how to eliminate data redundancy, content errors, lack of data standards and possible omissions; all critical to ensuring a healthy supply chain with a detailed look at two methods of data governance — active and passive. Understand how passive data governance allows users to interact directly with source systems to monitor results and identify data issues. Find out how active data governance differs from passive data governance by providing a guided process for the introduction and management of data into selected systems.  Examine the four levels of data governance — from “no data governance” where every user is entrusted to enter in their transactional data individually (passive) to creating an “active data governance” model that requires, and pre-validates data to specifically support a configured SAP business process.
